Toners

This is the most often skipped step in all of skincare.  Who needs to mist after cleansing? Doesn't it dry out my skin? Gone are the days of swiping on some Sea Breeze.  Toners, hydrosols and mists are hydration sprays that you can spritz onto your face or on your hand to pat gently into your skin.  This integral step in your skincare routine not only works with your cleanser to balance the pH of your skin but also preps your face for optimal absorption of any product you put on after.  I know you have the 5 seconds it takes to mist.  Don't you want those benefits?! Still too much to ask? Try spritzing your toner into a hand full of serum or moisturizer. Two steps in one but double the benefit.  It can also be used to set your makeup or refresh your face throughout the day.

Below I have included three of my favorite mists. Please keep in mind, I love to mix-n-match skincare; but, when it comes to natural skincare, keep cleansers and toners together from the same range.  These are formulated to work with each other to balance the pH of your skin.

Sircuit Molecular Mist

Natural, Specialty $$

This is my favorite "high-tech" toner.  Ha, Sircuit is my favorite range for melding science and nature, so you'll be seeing quite a few of their products on The List.  I like result driven skincare and this range doesn't dissapoint.

This hydrating, plumping and evaporation resistant formula, soothes the skin while also protecting it from environmental stressors and UVB rays. It's jam packed with antioxidants, specifically Spin Trap (my favorite antioxidant - because, yes, I have one of those), a smart antioxidant that not only traps free radicals but then turns them into hydration the skin can readily absorb! Doesn't that get you excited?!

Great for all skin types, especially those in need of anti aging. Possibly too active for very sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Arginine (L), Deuterium Oxide (Heavy Water), Commiphor Myrrha (Myrrh) Resin Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Phenyl Butyl Nitrone (Spin Trap).

Luzern La Defense Urban Protect Micellar Cleansing Water

Natural, Specialty $$

This product is not quite a toner, well it is, but it's also a cleanser and exfoliant. I include this here for anyone too lazy to mist.  You probably fall asleep in your make-up too, don't you?  For someone who can barely find the time for a single step, let alone a whole routine.  Behold, I give you the 3-in-1.

Pour a little onto a cotton round and swipe it on your face.  Use it just as you would a cleansing wipe. No rinsing required. Plus in addition to cleansing, pH balancing and lightly exfoliating with pumpkin ferment, this product helps to protect and fight against environmental stressors - smog, ozone, pollution, free radicals and UV damage!

If you live in a city, you absolutely need this!

If you're bad at skincare, start here. We can talk sunscreen later.  Good for all skin types.

ISUN Ormus Mist

Organic, Specialty $

OK so this is less of a toner and more of a mood elevating, heavenly scented, platinum and gemstone infused superconductor*, and it might be my favorite thing on the planet.  (This spray possibly needs its own blog post.)  For the sake of The List, lets call it a face and body spray. Oh, did I mention there's a gemstone in the bottle? That's love.

If you look at the ingredients, they are few.  However, it's whats not listed.  Bunny, Isun's creator, formulator and all around gift from the gods, carries buckets of "living" mountain spring water down from a high altitude spring at 9,600 ft, in her Colorado backyard for use as this spray's most integral ingredient.  This "living" water is full of tiny particles of platinum, silver and gold, called Ormus; that have been scraped off the rocks as centuries of glaciers have carved out the mountains and have collected in the glacier melt which feeds these high altitude springs.  *Ormus, known as a superconductor, accelerates cell communication, rapid skin repair and rejuvenation.  The water is then infused with gemstones and a regenerating blend of essential oils.

I promise, this is as hippie as I go.  I am a big fan of science but I do feel like there is something to be said for vibrational energies.

Everyone needs this in their life. Yeah you. Go get it Right Now!

*High altitude spring water; *White rose oil; *Frankinsence oil; *Jasman Sambac oil; *Lotus oil; Quartz crystal.
